PUBLIC HEALTH, HYGIENE & SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN

Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, (KRCHE) organized a one day seminar on “Public Health, Hygiene & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” on October 6th, 2016 at their campus. Dr. K.B. Asthana, Director, felicitated the chief guest and welcomed students for participating in the Swachh bharat Abhiyaan and help the nation to live safe and hygienically.  He further elaborated that it is also our directive principle and fundamental duty.

The seminar focussed the topic and motivated the students to become helping hand in national development. Mr. Arvind Chaurasiya, Anchor APN news channel, inspired our students by his experienced remarks. He also highlighted the work of Hon. Prime Minister, Mr. Narender Modi and also briefed students that an initiative should be made by them also. If we want to live happily and looking our future in coming years so Public Health and Hygiene is the rising challenge among all and we can only achieve this by making our India Clean. This not only makes our future better but also takes our country on highest heights. Overall it was great interactive session and students also participated very enthusiastically and made promise to them that they will help the government in Clean India drive.

Indian Economy before Demonetization and after Demonetization

On 27th January 2017, Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education organized a seminar on “Indian Economy before Demonetization and after Demonetization” for all the students of BBA, B.Com (Hons.), BJ(MC) and B.Ed. The event started at 1:00 PM with a motivational speech by Dr. K.B. Asthana, Director KRCHE. He enlightened students with his vast knowledge and experience also informed them about the merits and demerits of demonetization.

Many students participated in the seminar from all the departments and made the event a resourceful and successful event. Ms. Aparna Aggarwal from B.Ed stood first in the seminar, Ms. Saniya Chitkara from BJ(MC) came second and Mr. Rahul Saini from BBA bagged the third position.

The Rapporteur Ms. Manmeet Kaur from BBA concluded the seminar by highlighting the positive points discussed during the seminar. At 3:30 PM the event was concluded by Dr. Pooja Gupta by delivering vote of thanks to director sir, session chair and all the participants of the seminar.

 "Seminar on Financial Literacy"

The Rotaract club of  K.R.C.H.E has organised a seminar on "Financial Literacy" on 21st March 2017 for  BBA and B.Com II & III year students. The resource person were  Prof. R. P. Tulsian – (Professor in Bhagat  Singh College  &  C.A. Ashwani  Kumar Bhalla –  President of Rotaract Club.  Prof. R. P. Tulsian  highlighted the importance of savings and  Procedure of  investing in different modes like Saving A/c, Fixed Deposit A/c, Recurring Deposit A/ c, PPF, Mutual Funds and Capital Market.  There were Questions & Answers Round after the Lecture was over and the Students Showed Great Enthusiasm in Listening the Experience of Prof. R.P. Tulsian. Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Parul Sharma (Assistant Professor).

 

WORKSHOPS

NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON –INVESTOR AWARENESS

Both investor relations and investor awareness are of great importance for every company who want to have big outcomes. Realizing this fact the Management Department of Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education organized one day National Workshop on “Investor Awareness” in collaboration with Niyati Carter & Associates for the BBA & B.COM (H) students on 22nd August, 2016. The aim of the workshop was to make students aware of short term and long term investments. The workshop was divided into two technical sessions. First technical session was chaired by Shri. H.K. Awasthi (legal advisor consumer voice). He focused and covered all    the legal & practical aspects of the investment. He stressed more on small investment. His vast knowledge enriched the students in short span of time. Second technical session was chaired by Professor. Suraj Prakash (Rajdhani College, DU) who discussed the importance of investing in long term investment. Overall it was fruitful learning experience for the students.

 VARIOUS PERSPECTIVES OF MEDIA WRITING

Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, (KRCHE) organized a one day media workshop on “Various Perspective of Media writing” on 14th October, 2016 in the college premises. Dr K.B. Asthana, Director, welcomed students and chief guest with their wise words. The main theme of this workshop was to aware the students about the two domains of the media industry i.e. Desk Work and Field Work.  Dr.Gopal Thakur, HOD, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication opened the session with the introductory speech and spoke about the workshop. Dr. Subhash Kumar, Associate Professor, Manipal University Jaipur motivated our students by enlightening session; It was indeed a great experience for all of us.  All aspects of Media Writing were covered in a delightful manner. The audience was spell bound right through the session. The session was so inspiring that the budding journalist felt free to interact on various issues. They also learnt the various forms of creative media writing.

They took the whole workshop in two sessions. In the first session, Dr. Kumar addressed the students about the concept of Media Writing and he further elaborated his discussion on current scenario of the media Industry and field work. The next session was on practical media writing.  In this session every student got the opportunity to participate in various activities like writing for print, Electronic and web. They further got knowledge about the editing and their important symbols and practiced it in their media copy. After that interactive session was made in which students cleared their queries related to media industry.

WORKSHOP ON “HOW TO DO CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS

Our College had organized a workshop on “How to do Cashless Transactions” on 22nd Dec, 2016.The main objective of this workshop was to inform all the faculty and staff about the cashless transactions and to join hands in the initiative taken by the government.  The main focus of the workshop was to demonstrate the different ways to transact online safely.

Main points discussed in the workshop were as follows:

1.      How to Book Tickets online

2.      How to Pay our Bills Online

3.      How to Recharge our Phones online

4.      How to use different types of Apps in our android phone like Pay TM, Free charge etc.

5.      How to transfer funds from one account to another

Whole process from registration to the actual transaction was described in detail with the help of practice session. Cyber security concerns were also discussed in brief. It was strongly emphasized that we should use strong passwords and should not share our card details, username and password with anyone.  On line transactions appear to be difficult but once we start doing it, it becomes very simple. It saves our time as well as our money. It also helps in reducing corruption which is the main problem of our country. The workshop ends with a pledge that we all will transact online as much as we can.

BSE AND AWARENESS ON CAPITAL & SHARE MARKET

Department of Management of Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education had organized one day workshop on BSE and Awareness on Capital & Share Market on 6th Sep,2016 for BBA & B.COM (H) final year students.  The workshop was divided into two technical sessions. First session was taken by Mr. Awasthi from consumer voice .He talked about  the functioning and role of BSE in Indian Stock Market. The session was very informative for the students. Second session was taken by Prof. SurajPrakash (Rajdhanicollege, DU).  He explained how to trade in BSE and NSE and what precautions should be taken before doing on-line share trading .This entire workshop enriched the students with great knowledge of share and capital market.

 

Financial Literacy and Awareness among the Youth of India

In a survey on global financial literacy in 2012 by Visa, Indians emerged as one of the least financially literate among 28 countries. Indians ranked low in this survey for several reasons, including the lack of household budgets, money management discussions with family, financial education or an understanding of money management basics. Indians were ranked as 23rdout of 28 countries with only 35% of Indian respondents emerging as financially literate. To meet the requirement and to make the students financially literate Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education conducted the Workshop on “Financial Literacy and awareness Among the Youth of India in the college premises. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. K.B. Asthana, Director KRCHE.  Dr. Sunil Kadyan (Assistant Professor, Amity School of Banking, Insurance and Actuarial Science, Noida) and Mr. Manish Sharma(Assistant Professor, Amity School of Banking, Insurance and Actuarial Science, Noida) were the key resource persons. The workshop received an overwhelming response with the students of BBA and B.Com(Hons.) along with the faculty members.

In the key note address, Hon. Director, Dr. K.B. Asthana shared that enhancing Financial Literacy is very important for the youth of India. He added that Financial literacy is the ability to understand how money works in the world; how someone manages to earn or make it, how that person manages it, how he/she invests it (turn it into more) and how that person donates it to help others. More specifically, it refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources. The First Session was taken by Mr. Manish Sharma. He told about the financial markets. An investor has many options to invest in like debt, equity,bonds etc. but to minimize the risk one should invest in equity oriented mutual funds. He talked about the rule of 72 which tells that howto calculate the desired rate of return on investment.

The second session was taken by Dr. Sunil Kadyan. He focused on the insurance industryand on different types of Insurance policies like Health and Medical Insurance policy. He said that in India less than 5% of the population has health insurance policy. And out of the insured very few are aware about the terms and conditions of their policies. He added that in India the general public need to be literate in this field for their betterment. The workshop was proved fruitful as students had got the opportunity to learn about the important concept of financial literacy.

Photography Workshop on “Art and Science of capturing”      

New Delhi, 25th January, 2017. Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, (KRCHE) organized a Photography workshop on “Art and Science of Capturing” on 25th January, 2017.

 Ms. Sanya Chitrakara from BJ(MC) 4th semester welcomed students and chief  guest  Mr. Hemant Kumar Uppal , (Photographer,, Graphic Artist and printing Technologist from NIHFW, Dr. K.B. Asthana, Director, addressed workshop and introduced Mr. Hemant Kumar Uppal as photographer and social worker share views on photography workshop.

Mr. Hemant Kumar Uppal addressed student’s different aspect of Photography with brief introduction theory and practical taught different technics and terminology such as ISO, Aperture and Depth of field.

In which each student got the opportunity for asked question to Mr. Hemant Kumar Uppal to Photography and many practical

experience share with students also   given information with working photography group in social media particularly Delhi based for future engagement with update with trends.

 It was wonderful experience for all of us to listen on the subject, the session was so that the discussed different aspect of photography.

Workshop on Stress Management through Yoga and Meditation

Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education organized a workshop on Stress Management through yoga and meditation for the students of journalism and mass communication department on 7th march, 2017 in the college premises. Swami Krishna Deo, Chairman, world welfare mission was the chief guest for the workshop. Dr. K.B. Asthana, Director, KRCHE, welcomed the guest and felicitated him with the memento and also shared his views about the link of yoga and meditation with the stress management. Swami Krishna shared his practical knowledge to the students with the help of live demonstration of yoga Postures , Use of right gestures , and Body lingual’s .He also emphases on the life style diseases which are rapidly increasing day by day like obesity, blood pressure and some of the mental illness like stress, behavioral disorders, risk etc. Students enjoyed this interactive session and they also solved the queries related to yoga and meditation. In the end Dr. Gopal Thakur, H.O.D, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication thanked Swami Krishna Deo and all the students for their cooperation.

 One Day Self Defense Training Workshop”

 New Delhi, 16th March, 2017: Nothing feels better than knowing you can take care of yourself mentally, financially, and physically. However for a lot of people, the physical part is just exercise. Being able to protect yourself in all situations is a confidence booster as much as it is a reassurance. A reassurance that can only be gained through any form of self defense classes. Thinking the requirement of self defense KRCHE organized one day self defense training workshop for the girls students of the college.

The workshop started with the inaugural  speech by Hon. Director  Dr. K.B. Asthana. He welcomed the self defense trainers , Constable Hemlata, Constable Munesh, Constable Snehlata and Constable Samesta. He shared  the importance of self defense with the students. He told that self-defense helps women protect themselves and their family. This is the most important reason for women to learn self-defense. Self-defense builds confidence in women. He told further that self-defense teaches women discipline, and that discipline transfers over to all other areas of their lives.

The session started with the technique of self defense taught by self defense trainers. They demonstrate the different tactics of self defense. They told the importance of presence of mind in certain kind of situations. The students asked their queries regarding eve teasing etc., which were answered properly.

 The workshop ended with the ending note deliver by Dr. Pooja Gupta (Assistant professor, Department of Management). Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Seema Sharma (Assistant professor, Department of Education).
