IPU CET Syllabus For B.COM (H)

The Common Entrance Test (CET) for the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program is a pivotal step for aspirants aiming to join Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). This examination evaluates candidates across four primary domains: General English, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and General Awareness.

The General English section, constituting 25% of the exam, assesses proficiency in areas such as vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension. Candidates are tested on their understanding of synonyms, antonyms, idioms, phrases, and their ability to comprehend and analyse written passages. Logical Reasoning, also accounting for 25%, examines analytical abilities through topics like analogies, series completion, coding-decoding, and syllogisms.

Data Interpretation is the most significant portion, comprising 35% of the test. This section challenges candidates to interpret and analyse data presented in various forms, including graphs, charts, and tables, requiring a strong grasp of percentages, ratios, averages, and profit and loss calculations. The remaining 15% is dedicated to General Awareness, where aspirants' knowledge of current events, business, economics, history, geography, polity, science, technology, and sports is evaluated.

The IPU CET for B.Com (Hons.) is conducted offline over a duration of 150 minutes, encompassing 100 multiple-choice questions. Each correct response awards four marks, while an incorrect answer results in a deduction of one mark. A strategic and well-structured preparation plan, focusing on these core areas, is essential for candidates aspiring to secure admission into this esteemed program at GGSIPU.
