Overview - BA (JMC) BEST COLLEGE FOR BJMC
Bachelor of Arts (Journalism & Mass Communication) is a three–year full time programme conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. KRCHE is one of the top Best BJMC College in IP University. This much sought after programme has been especially designed to cater to the need of students who aspire to make a Career in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. Almost all aspects of traditional, contemporary and new media have been incorporated in the curriculum of the programme for the maximum benefit of students and to match with the industry requirements. The programme is being run by the college since its inception way back in 2005.

The specific objectives of the programme are:-

- In BA(JMC), as an aspiring media professional, you will learn about Communication and Society, Ethics of Journalism, Basic Reporting Skills, etc.
- You can also specialize in the fields such as Print (Newspaper and Magazines), Broadcast (Radio and television), the Internet (Online/Cyber Journalism), Event Management, Advertising, Public Relation etc.
- After completion of this course students may opt for master’s programme in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC), MBA in Media Management or PG Diploma in various specialized streams.
Media is one such industry, which requires people accustomed to the local customs of the place. The demand for media professionals, especially a journalist, is at an all-time high and students can make the most of their education by being proactive. It is valuable in the context of the Indian Media and students will be able to translate and deliver the system which is required to do here.
Interactive and Participatory Methodology: Our track record has been to use highly interactive, participatory and motivational methodologies to deliver lessons to students.
Visualization: Apart from traditional mode of teaching, our faculty members use latest teaching techniques like e – learning, LCD and projectors.
Cooperative Learning: Students are also delivered power point presentations on complex topics. For better understanding of certain complex topics, guest lecturers from both academics and industry are invited to deliver lecture from time to time. Professional Development: We engage students for regular professional development programmes to enhance their knowledge.
SUMMER TRAINING, FUNCTIONAL EXPOSURE & FINAL PROJECT REPORTS
Practical training / Exposure / Projects are an essential part of Journalism and Mass Communication studies. This involves a period of four to six weeks practical training which is designed to provide students with the opportunity to put theory into practice. The aim of practical training is to help students develop professional skills, explore career options and network with potential employers as well as to enhance the abilities that support professional studies and prepare them for work to be done later on in the industry . It is helpful for students to demonstrate their proficiency of skills in their field of interest in Media and Entertainment industry. For the students, the practical training provides an opportunity to learn important skills which will help them in becoming a professional of the future.
MEDIA LAB
We have state of the art media labs, well equipped with latest tools and technologies for all streams of media ranging from print, audio, visual and cyber. It can be classified as under:
AUDIO PRODUCTION STUDIO
We have Integrated Digital Audio Work Station equipped with professional audio instruments. This fully air conditioned studio is capable of producing all type of radio and audio productions. The studio is backed by latest editing software (Nuendo, audacity, Sony Sound Forge), digital mixer, sound card, speakers, high grade professional microphones (Shure), Lapel mikes, headphones, amplifiers etc.
TV PRODUCTION STUDIO
We have fully air - conditioned TV Production Studio equipped with high quality professional grade multi – ten, multi – twenty lighting systems, anchor setup, spacious acoustic managed broadcast quality facilities. Multi cam set up, range of full frame cameras (Sony Alpha Full- frame series), tripods, dolly, multi Godox light setup (SL350, cutter stand etc). Also, micro phones (Shure setup) are special features of our studio.
CHROMA RECORDING STUDIO
One dozen DSLR cameras and half a dozen industry level digital professional cameras (Canon Professional Camcorders) are the special features of this lab. Also, availability of teleprompter is an added feature of this lab as it “prompts” the person speaking with a visual text of a speech or script. This allows the reader to read the text word for word, ensuring a consistent and accurate speech, while maintaining the illusion of spontaneity.
